Natural Skin Exfoliants

Facial skin is much more delicate than that of the rest of the body, so when choosing the products to apply, one must consider its fragility.

In addition, you can  choose one or the other ingredients, depending on the type of skin : oily, dry, mixed, with acne, etc…

For the body, you can include ingredients to fight cellulite, stretch marks, poor circulation, etc…

Exfoliation is an essential step to have young and luminous skin, as it allows the elimination of dead cells that give the skin a gray and dull appearance.

In addition, exfoliation stimulates circulation and prevents wrinkles.

1. Fruits for the face

pineapple for the face

The skin on the face is much more sensitive than the rest of the body and is also directly influenced by external agents: sun, wind, pollution, etc…

Therefore, the use of natural fruit exfoliants is recommended, as  their enzyme content allows you to chemically exfoliate the skin.

Fruits not only cleanse but also  provide very beneficial vitamins and minerals for the skin.

It is recommended to use the following exfoliants:

  • Pineapple: for oily skin.
  • Kiwi: for oily and combination skin.
  • Papaya: for mixed and dry skin.
  • Pear: for dry and delicate skin.

Apply a little of one of these fruits on your clean, dry face, leave it for a few minutes until dry and wash your face afterwards.

Can be used once a week. It is normal to see some itching from the action of enzymes, but it shouldn’t be too disturbing.

2. Coconut oil and baking soda for hands

Baking Soda Skin Scrub

The hands are the part of the body that show signs of work and aging.

They are not as sensitive as the face or suffer from stretch marks or cellulite as the rest of the body, but they are always exposed and may suffer from poor circulation.

To elaborate a specific exfoliant for the hands, it is recommended to combine two miraculous ingredients:   extra virgin coconut oil and baking soda.

Coconut oil deeply nourishes and protects the skin, while baking soda activates circulation and gently but effectively exfoliates.

Method of preparation:

  • Mix the two ingredients well until you get a sandy paste.
  • Coconut oil must be above 23°C to melt; maybe that’s why I have to warm it up a bit.
  • Massage your hands well with this product.
  • Then rinse with warm water.

3. Sea salt and oil for the body

The body needs natural exfoliants with a deeper action to stimulate circulation, eliminate toxins; as well as fighting cellulite and stretch marks and providing smoothness.

For this, two very effective ingredients are used:

  • Sea salt: you can choose different types of thickness (thin or coarse), depending on the area you want to exfoliate.

For example, coarse salt is used for the buttocks or heels, while fine salt is used for the lap. It also provides minerals to the skin, as long as it is sea salt  and not refined or table salt.

  • Olive Oil: Vegetable oil is rich in essential fatty acids that nourish the skin and provide many antioxidants.

It’s very moisturizing. So, if your skin is oily, replace it with coconut or jojoba oil or add a little aloe vera gel.

It follows the same method of production as the baking soda and coconut oil scrub.

  • Apply during the shower, using the steam of hot water to open the pores well. When drying, the skin is soft and hydrated.
