Breaded and fried onion rings

Ingredients

  • 1/2 chopped tomato (60 g).
  • 1 cup of flour (100 g).
  • 1 green pepper (145 g).
  • 2 medium eggs (180 g).
  • 3 teaspoons of salt (75 g).
  • 2 cups of oil (220 ml).
  • 5 medium onions (500 g).
  • 1 cup of breadcrumbs (100 g).
  • Ground beef (1/2 kg).
  • 4 teaspoons of oregano (100 g).
  • 4 crushed garlic cloves (15 g).

Preparation

  • First, you must season the meat with tomatoes, oregano, peppers, garlic and salt. Macere and set aside in a bowl with foil over the top.
  • Then peel the onions, cut them into rings and separate them.
  • In another bowl, beat the two eggs. Use two plates to place the flour and bread.
  • Now, stuff the onion rings with the minced meat.
  • Then pass each ring through the flour, the egg, and finally the bread.
  • In a skillet, heat the oil and, when done, fry the rings until golden (make sure they are cooked through on the inside).
  • Finally, remove from the pan, drain the oil a little, let it cool and serve. Enjoy your onion rings stuffed with minced meat.

In this recipe, you will prepare the ground meat in the form of meatballs. The purpose of this is that when you  fry the onion rings, they look like a planet, similar to the planet Saturn. It’s a children’s recipe that kids will love.

Ground beef

Ingredients

  • Ground beef (1/2 kg).
  • 1 teaspoon of salt (5 g).
  • 3 cups of oil (330 ml).
  • 2 medium eggs (180 g).
  • 1 cup of breadcrumbs (100 g).
  • 4 medium onions (400 g).
  • 1 teaspoon of oregano (5 g).
  • 1 cup of all-purpose flour (100 g).
  • 3 crushed garlic cloves (4 g).

Preparation

  • To start with, you should season the meat well with salt, oregano and garlic. Set aside by covering with film paper.
  • Then cut the onions crosswise and separate them into rings (you should be careful with this step as the onion is very fragile and can break).
  • Then you will have to calculate the size of the meatballs with each onion ring so they don’t dissolve when you fry them with oil.
  • Now you will need two dishes. In the first one, spread the wheat flour and in the second the breadcrumbs.
  • In a separate bowl, beat eggs. Egg is essential so that the meat does not dissolve when cooked.
  • To create the shape of a planet, simply place a meatball in an onion ring. (Remember they must fit exactly so they don’t get out of place when they’re being fried).
  • Spread each onion ring with the meatball in flour, egg and bread (in that order).
  • Put the oil in a pan to heat over medium heat.
  • Then add the rings one by one until they turn golden. This takes about 8 to 10 minutes as they must be cooked from the inside.
  • When the rings are done, let the extra oil drain, let it cool a little and serve.
